Originally a Babylonian deity, Succoth-Benoth, ' Booths of the Daughters', was brought to the former kingdom of Samaria after the Exile brought on by the Assyrian conquest of the area. In the resettlement of Israel (read Samaria) the 'men of Babylon' worshipped this god along with JEHOVAH
