The Gallic goddess of birth and midwifery, she is known under Roman influence as DEA AVETA, a goddess of female fertility and fresh water. Aveta is known mainly from clay figurines found at Toulon-sur-Allier and an inscription at the Cote d’Or, France. She was also known in Germany, at Trier.
